Her lashes may never be the same again

A woman has been left with no eyelashes after a botched extension job left her with inflamed eyelids and an infection.

A popular beauty procedure which sees individual synthetic lashes attached to the wearer’s own, eyelash extensions have become big business and you’d be hard pressed to find a salon that doesn’t offer them.

But, as one woman found out the hard way, not all lash artists are created equal.

After having botched eyelash extensions, an anonymous woman entered Emmaculate Beauty salon in Perth, Australia in a desperate plea for help.

But her real lashes were so damaged that there was nothing that could be done to save them.

Taking to Facebook, Emma Dhanjal – a beauty professional and owner of Emmaculate Beauty salon – issued a lengthy warning to her customers.

“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your research. This poor girl has been left with extremely damaged natural lashes,” Ms Dhanjal posted.

“She wanted lashes for her birthday this weekend and I could not lash her because she has been left with no lashes.

“Her natural lashes are sooooo damaged from the place she has been having her lashes done, they were falling out when I touched them with the tweezers.”

Alongside her warning, Dhanjal shared a series of images of the woman’s lashes adding that her client had ‘inflamed eyelids’ and needed to see a doctor for infection.

“Her lashes may never be the same again,” she wrote.

Nonetheless, the lash artist insisted that if beauty fans do their research before hand that this kind of thing should never happen.

“Please do not be scared of having lash extensions applied, if you do your research and go to the right place your lash extensions can be applied for years and years without having a break.”

Instead, she recommends knowing the background of your eyelash artist, looking at photos and reviews online, and never opting for the cheapest option.

Receiving 2,000 likes in just one week, Dhanjal’s post clearly struck a chord and some even shared their own horror beauty stories.

“I had mine done about 4-5 weeks ago. I’m not sure if it’s normal but they stab and itch when I shut my eyes… and some of my lashes have snapped off to nothing like in this photo,” one woman admitted.
